YOCCAP CASSAVA PROJECT VALUE CHAIN
Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava; a total of 36.8 MT was harvested from 3.13 million hectares in 2009, with an average yield of 11.7 tonnes ha–1 (FAOSTAT 2010) but accounts for an insignificant fraction of global value-addition of cassava.
The Present Administration has targeted Cassava for transformation.
Government has wooed private sectors investors to build High Quality Cassava Flour (HQCF), starch Sweetener, fuel Ethanol, Dried Chips for export and animal feed and traditional food. Legislation has also been put in place to ensure 20% inclusion of Cassava flour in all bakery (bread) products in Nigeria.
We leverage on this unique platform to compliment Government efforts by the formation of YISA Youth/Women Cassava Farmers Cluster.
